Loosely Woven goes 'On the road' again!
9th-17th April 2011

Loosely Woven is an ad-hoc community-based group of instrumentalists and singers who perform two to three cabaret type shows a year - just for the fun of it!

During the years 2007-2009, the group took a concert up north performing with local musicians in places like Talarm, Bowraville, Grafton, Yamba, Dorrigo, Armidale and Dungog.

This year we are going 'on the road' again this time heading west to Blackheath, Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo preceded by a couple of performances in Sydney.

On this occasion, the Sydney performers will be joined for some of the performances by members of two Blue Mountains choirs, The Mudlarks (based in Lawson) and The Heathens (based in Blackheath) including its leader Chris Wheeler of Wheelers & Dealers fame.

There will be 35-60 performers on each occasion this time with an instrumental line-up that includes: harps, flutes, clarinets, saxophones, violins, viola, cello, guitar, mandolin, piano, concertina, accordion, keyboard and percussion.

The program will include three original songs as well as the usual eclectic Loosely Woven mix ranging from Holly Near’s powerful ‘Hay Una Mujer Desaparecida’ to Tom Bridge’s harmonic arrangement of Graham Moore’s ‘Tolpuddle Man' to The Seeker’s hit song ‘I’ll never find another you’ to 'Da Doo Ron Ron' as performed by the Topp Twins, from Rogers & Hart's classic 'Blue Moon' to Buddy Holly's 'Rave On'!

See the 'On the road' web site for details of the program.

As usual, Loosely Woven will be performing acoustically - no PA system!
