Loosely Woven is a community based group of people who put together and perform two to three shows each year. 'Wave' is the first of these for 2015 with 20 instrumentalists and singers including, on this occasion, the wonderful Sonia Bennett.
'Wave' is named after the well known Antonios Carlos Jobin 'bossa nova' song.
The program will include original songs by Sonia Bennett including:
• Flour Bin (Henry Lawson)
• Learn all their songs, sweet lyrebird (Denis Kevans)
• I wonder (Henry Weston Pryce)
as well as a number of well known songs including:
• I'll never find another you (The Seekers)
• Feel like going back home (Brand Nue Dae)
• Bye Bye Baby Goodbye
• City of New Orleans
• Fields of Athenry
• You Send Me
• Da Doo Ron Ron
• Cousin Jack
and some lesser known songs such as:
• Song for the Mira
• My Homeland
• A bunch of damned whores (Ted Egan)
• Little Gomez (Eric Bogle)
Instruments this time will include violins, violas, flutes, harps, glockenspiel, guitars, mandolin, concertina, accordion, keyboard and percussion.
As usual, Loosely Woven will be performing acoustically - no PA system.
Owing to limited seating, bookings strongly recommended for the performance (only one this time!) at Humph Hall. Bookings, however, are not necessary for the other venues. But don't be late - Loosely Woven concerts always start on time! :-)
