Loosely Woven presents 'Balance'

This year's 'end-of-year' Loosely Woven concert takes its name from the fabulous Bruce Watson song which reminds us that "for every act of terror, there's a thousand acts of kindness!".

Also included is John McCutcheon's powerful ballad 'Christmas in the trenches' which tells the story of the 1914 Christmas Truce between the British and German lines on the Western Front. The rest of the concert will be the usual eclectic Loosely Woven mix ranging from 'The Holy City' to 'Da Doo Ron Ron', from Rogers & Hart's classic 'Blue Moon' to Buddy Holly's 'Rave On'!

There are 27 of us performing this time with an instrumental line-up that includes: harp, flute, clarinets, saxophones, violins, cello, guitar, piano, concertina, accordion, keyboard and percussion.

* All of the concerts are free with the exception of the Friday 17th December performance at Humph Hall which is a special fundraiser organised by Sailability to help fund Alyse Saxby's bid to represent Australia in the Athens Special Olympics World Games June 2011 - $25 donation requested.

The Humph Hall performance on Sat 18th December will be recorded and videod and made into a DVD.
