Message from BMC President Sharyn Mattern
about Bush Dancing in Sydney’s Inner West

The Bush Music Club has held regular bush dances in the inner west since the early 1980s, first in Glebe Town Hall then Glebe High School for many years, and finally at Balmain High School for the past 10 years. Unfortunately, with falling attendances and increased costs, we have been forced to make the very difficult decision to call it a day at Balmain.

So, it is with great sadness that I announce that Balmain’s Christmas dance, with Southern Cross Bush Band, will be the last of our regular dances in the inner west. We are proposing to hold, at least, 2 dances at other venues next year – in June and December – and hopefully we can expand on this … so watch this space!

But, never fear, dancing will still be happening at the BMC in 2013. On Monday nights we have the Pennant Hills Workshops and on the 1st Saturday of each month (except January and Easter) the Beecroft Bush Dances continue to be popular with dancers.

==============================

Venue - Balmain High School (Sydney Secondary College, Balmain Campus)
Terry St, Rozelle

Parking is now available under the hall - drive into Terry St in the usual way, but instead of driving past the school to the carpark in Bayville St, turn left into the smaller entrance opposite Norman St (it will be decorated with lights) & drive down the hill.

10 cars can be parked outside the hall entrance, another 40 can be parked at the bottom of the hill on the 2 basketball courts. Walk up the ramp into the lift & come upstairs.
