2005 will be a busy time - we are having an extra concert on the second Saturday in December & a Mini-Festival in May! We'll also be moving about a couple of times, in March & April, when we will meet on the 3rd Saturdays, but all other months will be the usual 4th Saturday. Best thing is to collect a calendar when you get to the next Dog, then you can stick it on your fridge & see the dates at a glance.
First Dog of the year was February 26th for the traditional unaccompanied singing, this year with Nick Lock & Rhona Macleod & friends.
March 19th (3rd Sat) we will have Brian Peters from the UK for traditional songs and music from England with squeezebox and guitar. Support Fiona McVicar & Craig Kelly.
"No singer outside Nic Jones and Martin Carthy has embraced the tradition and used its wellsprings in as vivid and ingenious a way" - Rock'n'Reel
"His playing is inventive and without fault, his vocals are strong and evocative, and his stage patter holds your interest while you are holding your sides. This guy is bloody good" - Enda Kenny.
16 April (3rd Sat), 2 main acts - Triantan & us not them
Craig & Simone, mothers of intention, Miguel Heatwole, Paul Hemphill, Kate Maclurcan, John Hospodaryk, Tony Eardley, Chris Okunbur, John warner, Margaret Bradford, Duncan Chalmers, Bob & Monica Foggin, Margaret Walters, The Jim Stubbs Backing Band.
