John Dengate

For over 50 years, John has been writing songs and poetry about life in Australia, reflecting his deep interest in history, his humanity, sense of humour and irreverence. Best known for songs of satire and political comment, John has also written songs of deep compassion about his family and battling Australians. Tonight John & friends will be singing songs from his latest book, newly launched by the Bush Music Club.

Eclectic and beautiful - traditional music of eastern Europe, Balkan and gypsy, and original music with jazz and Celtic tinges. Expressive, intricate instrumentals, vocal solos, exquisite 4 part female vocal harmonies.
