An Exhibition exploring the history of The Loaded Dog Folk Club, from its inception in 1990 to current times. The Dog was founded in 1990 by a group headed by Carole Garland, a traditional singer and concertina player who had migrated from Northumbria in 1987.
The initial concert with the enduring format of main act & support was held on Sat 17 November 1990 in the upstairs hall of the Annandale Neighbourhood Centre, main act The Roaring Forties, (still going strong) support Blue Heelers. The club attracts local, national & international acts, and the audience from across Sydney & wider afield!
The exhibition will be on display at Leichhardt Library from 1-26 April 2017. Free event - all welcome.
The opening includes performances by Dog regulars & Inner West residents Margaret Walters (who appeared at the initial concert waaaay back in November 1990), Miguel Heatwole (first booked 1998) and Sue Gee (first booked 1994)
