Kevin Baker
A long time political activist and historian, Kevin Baker is a brilliant exponent on the social, economic and industrial life of the Illawarra. He has recorded in song the struggles of workers and the despair of unemployment. Kevin’s song The Snowy River Men” is regarded as the most powerful anti-war song ever written. His three recordings, The Snowy River Men, Still a Rich Man’s Land and Harvest and Heartbreak, all his own compositions carry a wealth of Australian history and are an invaluable Australian Folk Collection. A poet/singer/songwriter Kevin knows and feels the real Australia and has that special gift of telling a story in song.

Chloe Hall

Chloe Hall
Ten years of performance explains a great deal about Chloe Hall’s exceptional poise and craft as a singer-songwriter, but there’s no accounting for her gift.

She has childhood memories of a house filled with Irish folk musicians and Bob Dylan records. A mature and assured artist with an instinct for melody and subtle truths, Chloe knows her own voice and understands its power. Chloe was nominated for Best Unsigned Artist at 2002’s Music Industry Critics’ Awards in Adelaide. With her latest CD, White Street, Chloe Hall is palpably comfortable in her own skin. From the first song of quiet determination, All Or Nothing, her voice has the purity of absolute conviction. “I only write songs when I feel something deeply,” she says. “That’s probably why they can be intense at times, cause that’s how I feel them.” Her song, Fall For You, is a love song that resonates with the unmistakable gravity of precious life experience. Chloe Hall can make up stories. She’s written to order for four Saddle Club albums (three gold-sellers) and various other TV and film projects

Look forward to seeing you all . . .

Margaret
