Sutherland Acoustic (formerly Sutherland Folk Club) is delighted to present:

Handsome Young Strangers

Handsome Young Strangers - After 6 years of touring the country entertaining folks with their high octane brand of Colonial Bush rock the HYS are happy to be back at their spiritual home - Sutherland Acoustic. Over the years local lads Fredo and Driza have often road tested their new material at the folk clubs session nights. The band loves the intimate acoustic vibe of performing at the Tradies club.

The HYS perform a blend of traditional Australian folk tunes and original material with odd Oz classic thrown into the mix. Great energy and fun you won't want to miss them as this time they are bringing all 5 members of the band who play many diverse instruments.

Anne Ridgway - In typical folk club style Ann is the counterpoint to the HYS. She has a gentle pure voice which is soulful and distinctive. She sings mainly her own songs which speak of her own experiences and themes that are dear to her heart. You will be uplifted and enchanted. She isn't known as the Blue Mountains darling for nothing! She has a few new songs to show us this time in preparation for a new album shortly.

Floor spots welcome + raffles & Santa cake

Put it in your diary now.

Session Night - As the 4th Thursday this month is Christmas Eve there won't be a formal Session Night. However, an informal session at a members' home is possible. More info at the concert on the 10th.

The Shire Quire meets on Saturday mornings from 10am-11.30 in school terms at the Tradies club Gymea usually in the Plush room downstairs past coffee shop. We All welcome any standard. Men truly encouraged. Emphasis on social conscious songs. Leader: Mary Jane Field Cost: $10. Enq: Mary-Jane (02) 9399 6278.
