The Shack - February 2007
7.30pm, Saturday 3rd Feb 2007

By Kathleen Swadling
Posted Wednesday, January 24, 2007

The Tramshed
1395a Pittwater Road
Narrabeen

(In between the Ambulance Station and Car Park of Narrabeen Shopping Centre)

Guest artists this month include:

  • Dave Calandra - an innovative singer/songwriter and brilliant guitarist from Sydney who performs in solo-acoustic mode and utilises open-tunings to produce guitar tones that often sound like several instruments being played in unison. His heartfelt lyrics convey universal themes of love and hope.
  • The Wheeze & Suck Band - a well known, energetic Sydney based group of musicians who play their own unique brand of traditional English influenced music with a popular mix of old time, traditional and original material
  • Selalu - (formerly known as The Swadlings) are a vibrant three-piece band performing original songs that feature thoughtful lyrics that are accentuated by strong harmonies, acoustic guitars, bass and mandolin.
Coffee and tea is available but BYO refreshments and nibblies.

The Shack is held on the first Saturday of every month. There's a cover charge of $15 (or $10 for members, students and pensioners) to cover costs. The Shack is a non profit organisation – all proceeds go toward the promotion and presentation of original, contemporary and traditional 21st century folk music.
