Kate Maclurcan celebrated her 60th birthday by producing her first full length CD ‘A New Day’.
It contains 17 songs three of which she wrote herself: one jaunty song about her Dad, one her robust Australian version of ‘This Land is Your Land’ and the title track, a touching song about needing to find the courage to pick up the pieces and move on when life shatters around you.
The rest of the album includes songs by Buffy Sainte Marie, Neil Diamond, Kristina Olsen, Kris Kristofferson, Richard Thompson, Guy Clarke, John Prine, Chris While and Australia’s Eric Bogle and Pat Drummond.
Kate has a warm, wonderfully nuanced voice . . . the songs convey much feeling and subtlety.
For this launch, Kate will be joined on stage by Rob Bullen (guitar, bass), Noni Dickson (harp), Samantha O'Brien (flute & sax), Kazu Milne (violin), Gial Leslie (glockenspiel) and Wayne Richmond (accordion & piano).
Call or email Wayne (02) 9939 8802 to reserve your seat.
