Balmain Baroque

Balmain Baroque celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2015. The band, based in Balmain, currently features:

• Amanda Muir (soprano, baroque flute)
• Jennifer Kaye (soprano)
• Tony Eyers (recorder)
• Kahne Raja (violin)
• Lauren Salanitro (cello)
• Donn Mendoza (harpsichord)
The program at Humph Hall will feature duets from the baroque operas of Handel and others - just like a night out in 18th century London.

They have their own harpsichord, essentially the 6th member of the band. Since the beginning, Balmain Baroque has had a strong community music focus. The group comprises professional players with a common passion for the baroque repertoire. They perform at baroque pitch and their wind instruments and harpsichord are based on their baroque counterparts. The 18th century saw a great outburst of high quality chamber pieces, Balmain Baroque has picked some of the best. Come and share with the band.

Visit the Balmain Baroque web site where you can listen to samples of their playing.
