Bright Star Singers Concert
3-5pm Saturday 4th November 2006

Posted Friday, October 20, 2006

The Bright Star Singers would like to extend an invitation to an afternoon of choral music featuring Australian songs at

The Bastable Street Community Hall
Bastable Street
Croydon
The concert will feature an ecclectic mix of songs, including bush ballads, songs with Aboriginal themes, Christmas carols, songs from neighbouring countries, music from medieval times and compositions by contemporary Australian songwriters.

“But no Bright Star concert would be complete without our signature 70’s “doo-wop” songs,” said Bill Bekrik, founding member of the choir, “and I’m sure we will fit in one or two of those in the afternoon!”

Dancing is usually part of a Bright Star concert, as well. This time belly dancers Marlene, Sonya and Michyo will be on show with their special brand of this art.

Entry to the concert is free. Snacks and drinks will be available before the program and during the break. Children are welcome.

For more information & bookings (recommended, as places are limited) please ring (02) 9797 6126.
