House concert with Wheelers & Dealers
2pm Sun 14th October 2007

Allan and Margaret have much pleasure in inviting you to their house concert featuring the Wheelers and Dealers.

Tom Bolton

Winners of the 2007 FAA Presenters Choice Award and 2003 MusicOz folk award, Wheelers and Dealers are purveyors of antipodean celtic music and Australiana delivered with warmth, dignity, gentle humour and infectious pleasure for the music. Stately instrumentals, gorgeous love songs, old favourites from the vast Irish song book, reworked contemporary songs dealing with today's issues and head-turning up-tempo dance tunes played with panache, are all within the range of these skilled and respected musicians. Wheelers and Dealers have played for corporate and public clients including live on ABC and community radio, the Rocks and The Basement.

"awesome musicianship . . ."'
"ust fantastic music . . ."
"wide-ranging repertoire . . . feeds the brain and the heart"
are just some of the coments you'll hear as you listen to a live concert of this special, talented group.

The band features:

  • Victorian Country Music Awards winner 2007 and soloist with Australian Chamber Orchestra 2007, fiddler Mike Kerin ("now there's a real fiddle player!")
  • Guitarist Ged Corben ("great chunky guitar riffs")
  • Accordionist Tinker Duffy (her squeeze box can spit fire or soothe the day's wounds)
  • Bassist Michael Vidale (try and name a band he hasn't performed with!)
  • Chris Wheeler, original used car salesperson, who talked her way into a place in the band because they were short a singer ("she has a voice that matches the warmth and clarity of your end of day malt").'
Look forward to seeing you all . . .

Margaret
