By Kathleen Swadling
Posted Thursday, June 1, 2006

The Tramshed
1395a Pittwater Road
Narrabeen

(In between the Ambulance Station and Car Park of Narrabeen Shopping Centre)

Guest artists this month include:

  • Anne Ridgeway - recipient of the 2005 Blue Mountains Music Award for Folk Music and acclaimed musician of the year. She is noted for having a soaring pure voice and unusual, ambient tunings on her 12–string guitar
  • The Wheeze & Suck Band - a well known, energetic Sydney based group of musicians who play their own unique brand of traditional English influenced music with a popular mix of old time, traditional and original material
  • Michael Azzopardi - an amazing singer/songwriter with a remarkably multi-layered artistic force. He has been described as an esoteric genius with a penchant for intricate acoustic masterpieces
Coffee and tea is available but BYO refreshments and nibblies.

The Shack is held on the first Saturday of every month. There's a cover charge of $15 (or $10 for members, students and pensioners) to cover costs. The Shack is a non profit organisation – all proceeds go toward the promotion and presentation of original, contemporary and traditional 21st century folk music.
