The Tramshed
1395a Pittwater Road
Narrabeen

(In between the Ambulance Station and Car Park of Narrabeen Shopping Centre)

The Shack presents a remarkable line up of live acoustic music, with a variety of artists on the first Saturday of each month. It is pleasantly laid out cabaret style in a candle lit atmosphere. The music is gently amplified with three main artists each month and one or two pre-booked floor spots. Complimentary tea and coffee is available and feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles.

Alanna & Alicia

Guest artists this month include:

  • Spasm Band - You name it, they can do it. With the big voices of Andy George and Rhonda Mawer complimenting one another, plus the magic of Chris Blanchflower’s wild harmonica playing and Graham Vick’s funky double bass, these accomplished singers and musicians deliver a diverse combination of jug, blues and folk. Members have played in a variety of bands over the years including Country Radio, The East Neasdon Spasm Band, the Stovepipe Spasm Band and the Wheeze and Suck Band.
  • Alanna & Alicia - are twin sisters who blend folk, jazz and roots in their original, acoustic songs. Their performances feature sweet, sibling harmonies and their lyrics sparkle with an original, intimate voice that is rare in songwriters today. As identical twins, they share a uniquely intuitive, creative partnership and have a natural musical rapport. They have had considerable recognition for their songwriting, winning awards at several national festivals. Both have been finalists in the Australian Songwriting Awards (Alicia 2009, Alanna top 10 acoustic song earlier) and Alicia won Best New Talent at Port Fairy in 1998.
  • Tully - is a singer/songwriter/musician extraordinaire who writes entrancing, sensitive songs, with an innovative and impressive guitar technique. His original music spans near all genres and emotions, remaining ever enthralling and unpredictable. Tully has merged his varied influences into a unique style of groove-laden acoustic mystery. The melodic delivery and driving guitar creates an intriguing show that draws the audience into its journey. He is often joined by his ensemble, "Tea for Three", to paint a soundscape as immense as it is beautiful.
Coffee and tea is available but BYO refreshments and nibblies. Tully Dingle

The Shack is held on the first Saturday of every month. There's a cover charge of $20 (or $15 for members, students and pensioners) to cover costs. The Shack is a non profit organisation – all proceeds go toward the promotion and presentation of original, contemporary and traditional 21st century folk music.
