The Shack - February 2008
7.30pm, Saturday 2nd Feb 2008

By Kathleen Swadling
Posted Tuesday, January 1, 2008

The Tramshed
1395a Pittwater Road
Narrabeen

(In between the Ambulance Station and Car Park of Narrabeen Shopping Centre)

Guest artists this month include:

  • The Wheeze & Suck Band - The well known lads will present their own brand of English folk with lively tunes combining accomplished musicianship, exquisite harmonies and outlandish costumes.
  • Kate Delaney and the Boys - Kate Delaney is making her long-awaited return to the Australian folk scene and has at last re-emerged with a solo CD, "A Moment in Time". Her beautiful singing of traditional with a sprinkling of contemporary songs will be accompanied by her new band of fine musicians which include Llew Kiek and Tony Pyrzakowski.
  • Dominique Fraissard - Raised in the mountainous Canadian woods, Dominique Fraissard, folk/rock songwriter/musician offers an original twist of urban transfer to his work. The intimacy of articulate penmanship combined with 6 and 12 string acoustic guitar mastery give this folk musician an urban edge, an earthy lilt and stadium energy.
Coffee and tea is available but BYO refreshments and nibblies.

The Shack is held on the first Saturday of every month. There's a cover charge of $15 (or $10 for members, students and pensioners) to cover costs. The Shack is a non profit organisation – all proceeds go toward the promotion and presentation of original, contemporary and traditional 21st century folk music.
