A singing songwriting busker
Paul Buckberry is an emotionally deep artist applying the tools of words and music to his social commentary. A singing songwriting busker whose first love is acoustic Folk Blues/Roots music, Paul was born in London, educated in Australia and spent a good deal of his adult life busking through the United States.
“cool, quirky, funny original songs”
Paul sings a broad range of songs about his exploits far and wide where the road has taken him. A man of great enthusiasm, wit and talent, he has a unique style which incorporates wonderful finger picking, soulful blues and his own brand of brilliant compositions – sometimes described as “cool, quirky, funny original songs”, and “off beat” poetry.
He has published an assortment of poetry books and short novelettes and is currently engaging clubs and festivals to promote his self-titled CD of original tunes, recorded at Damon Davies Planet Mars Studio in Cobargo, NSW. He impressed us at North By Northwest in May on the little johnnie howard night, so we've brought him back! Visit Paul's website.
Entry: $12/$10. Refreshments are available and BYO's are welcome.
We also have space for some floorspots!
North By Northwest Poetry and Folk Club meets in The Cornucopia Cafe, and is one of the best acoustic venues in Sydney. There will be refreshments for sale and BYO's are welcome.
