The long awaited Banner for Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Folk Club was unfurled last month.
Designed by graphic designer Tina Spira, club regular and Inspired by the beautiful bushland shire of Ku-ring-gai with a musical bandicoot mascot the main feature. This striking banner adds to the new look of the club, recent renovations and lighting to the hall, coffee shop style seating providing a great folk club atmosphere for patrons and performers.
Here Eddie Sampson is celebrating the unfurling of the banner with a poem written especially for the occasion.
Hornsby Ku-ring-gain Folk Club's got a banner
By Eddie Sampson
So it's time we had some glitter
and unfurled this little critter
He's a Ku-ring-gai Bandicoot
Now were proud to have this banner
Barry Parks has got the spanner
We'll let it hang down proudly in the hall
Come and hear the melodious voices
And the instrumentalists choices
Hear the harmony of voices wafting down the hall
Listen to the poets rhymes and stories
Of the colonial days of glories
Bring a beer a wine soft drink, laugh and have a ball
Have a bickie tea and chat
Coffee cake floor spots all of that
It's 8pm third Friday at the Beatrice Taylor Hall
Coming up next Friday 17th August: John Dengate
