Enda Kenny

Friday 21st September 8 pm

On a rare visit to Sydney

Dublin born songwriter, Enda Kenny has lived in Melbourne, Australia since 1987. Like the seanachies and yarn spinners before him, Enda’s songs describe stories of life, of humour, of nature and injustice. Enda’s gift as a performer is his ability to bring alive the individual experience in a way his audience intuitively relates to.

On this visit to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Folk Club Enda will be presenting two performances, songs and stories from the Broom perling industry the focus of his new CD “PEARLER”.

Enda will also be singing some of those pearlers he is famous for, hard hitting and humorous . Many of his songs have been recorded by a growing list of local and international artists including Roy Bailey, Karen Lynne, Reel Time, Bram Taylor, Barrie Davis, Bob Eden and Markerr.

An evening with Enda Kenny is a rare opportunity for us in Sydney made more special in the intimate and friendly atmosphere of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Folk Club. Enda builds a great rapport with his audiences his humorous stories, musicianship and well crafted songs. Not to be missed.
