- David Bridie -7 times Aria award winner, composer & musician - ex 'My Friend the Chocolate Cake' and 'Not Drowning, Waving'. Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal,we have invited tour guide, Lyn Taylor, who was there at the time, to come and speak. We will be collecting money on the night if you would like to contribute to the appeal.Every bit helps. Following a sell out gig with Archie Roach at the Sydney Opera House, David Bridie brings his beautiful music to Fairlight. David Bridie has been pushing boundaries in the Australian music scene for many years. The award winning songwriter and composer has enjoyed a distinguished career as one of Australia’s most innovative artists - whether as an International soundtrack composer; a leading expert on and producer of Melanesian music; as a uniquely Australian songwriter and piano player; and as singer with bands Not Drowning, Waving and My Friend the Chocolate Cake - Bridie has certainly stamped his mark.
- Jed Rowe (VIC) - Alt country and folk. "Twisted folk, bluesy country wanderings and edgy bluegrass . . . Rowe stands out in the pack." Rhythms Magazine, May 2015. "Falls in the spaces between country and folk rock, the world explored by everyone from the Byrds to the Jay hawks and . . . raised by Eagles." - Independant. Watch Black rain. The son of two musicians, and growing up in rural NSW, Jed Rowe is an award winning author who released a solo EP Life (2006) before forming The Jed Rowe Band and releasing two albums: Midnight Sun (2009) and The Ember And The Afterglow (2012), which was produced by ARIA Winner Jeff Lang.
