Mothers of Intention

Coming up at Fairlight Folk Acoustic Lounge on 14th August:

  • Mothers of Intention - Local northern Beaches group Mothers of Intention, winners of the 2007 MusicOz award, launch their 3rd CD When the winds begin to sing. The Mothers have performed at numerous folk festival including three times at the National Folk Festival. There will also be an exhibition of original artwork by band members including the artwork from the last two CD covers.
  • Mutual Aquaintances - Exciting and fresh - new and traditional Anglo Irish music featuring, vocals, uillian pipes, cittern, accordion, guitar & bodhran
  • Miles Merrill - spoken-word artist, multi award winner and Australian poetry slam founder. Miles has been a guest at Writers festivals around the world including Vancouver, Chicago, Beijing, Woodford, Ubud-Bali, Perth and Night Words, Australia's first spoken word festival at the Sydney Opera house etc.

Fairlight folk acoustic lounge is a not for profit venue run by musicians for musicians.Run quarterly for the past 4 years ,FFAL has seen performances from many fine interstate and international performers and has become a greatly anticipated event. With a candle lit ambience and red leather lounges, cafe style seating and lovely acoustics this gallery/church in Fairlight is a BYOG affair. Tea,coffee and soft drinks available.
