Danny Spooner

Singer of traditional and contemporary folk songs of Britain and Australia - solo acoustic singer, guitar and concertina. Danny's passion is the expression of British and Australian culture through folk music. In recent years he's sung at festivals, clubs and house concerts in Europe, England and Scotland, Canada and the USA.

In 2007 and 2011 he was honoured to be invited to work with Richard Tognetti and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. For 50 years in Australia audiences have enjoyed his concert brackets, workshops and one-man shows, his deep multi-disciplinary understanding of social history, his personal warmth, and his immense repertoire of songs covering the full range of human emotions, endeavours and experiences… He is a spellbinder.

Support -

Ecopella is an environmental choir that sings about the beauty of our world and the struggle to protect it from exploitation and destruction. Founded in 1998 by musical director Miguel Heatwole, the choir serves the environment movement by providing activists and audiences with the opportunity of enjoying a very high standard of a cappella singing. The strong environmental message of Ecopella's Save-The-World Music encourages positive change in people's thoughts and actions and offers support to a wide variety of green organisations.

Ecopella originated in Sydney and we now have branches in the Blue Mountains, Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Canberra and the Central Coast as well. We have over 360 performances to our credit, embracing a wide range of events: benefit concerts, protests, campaign launches, community gatherings and folk festivals.
