Collector & performer Alan Musgrove formed the Watsaname Band in 2004 to present Traditional Australian folk Song with a passion and commitment that comes from a deep knowledge and understanding of the musical traditions of a bygone Australia.

The Watsaname Band (Bob McInnis & Stuart Leslie) was created in the vein of the "New Authenticity" bands described by Graeme Smith in his history of folk and country music in Australia, Singing Australia. Their repertoire covers all aspects of Australian traditional music from British-derived love and murder ballads to old bush songs and songs of Australia's maritime history. The band perform with humour and vitality, which along with a tight instrumental and vocal sound, stands alone in the field of Australian Traditional music.
