One hour each from
Robin Connaughton - foundation member of the Roaring Forties, traditional style singer, player of stringed instruments & instrument maker. Robin is a retired TAFE teacher and Union activist, with a wit sharpened by 9 years on the Australian National Debating team and 16 years on the NSW team. He has recently written a series of songs and poems about his experience in the steel industry in Newcastle & Wollongong in the 1960s. Devilish writer of satirical songs that can make a politician spontaneously combust.
Fox Hat Trio - Mad, Trad and dangerous to know... Bright eyed and bushy tailed, the recently formed Fox Hat Trio have crept from their Brisbane den to join their voices in song. Helen Rowe, Lonnie Martin and Dave Hughes sing the old songs, celebrating harvest, home, sea and work. Drawing inspiration from the great traditional singers of the Anglo-Celtic folk revival they sing in deft harmony with passion and belief. All are acknowledged soloists with fine reputations for unaccompanied singing. Performing in various guises, over the last year, at the National, Illawarra,Woodford and Neurum Creek Festivals, they have led sessions and workshops as well as being regular folk club performers.
