Loosely Woven presents 'For King & Country'
18th Feb - 18th March 2016

By Wayne Richmond
Posted Wednesday, January 7, 2015

You are invited to a special concert of songs, music & poetry that inspired courage and bravery in our soldiers that fought in the Great War for 'King & Country' and shaped our musical history from 1914 to today.

These songs & poems lifted the spirits of the people left behind in Australia and typified the Australian as an adventurous and 'happy-go-lucky' character. They will make you laugh, cry and wonder.

In addition to songs, poems & ditties from the time, the program will include contemporary material from the likes of Eric Bogle, Judy Small, Ted Egan, Sonia Bennett & Ian Hamilton.

This event was conceived by school teacher Maureen Morcom and presented by Maureen together with instrumentalists & singers from Loosely Woven including Sonia Bennett & Ian Hamilton.

Owing to limited seating, bookings strongly recommended for the performances at Humph Hall. Bookings, however, are not necessary for the other venues. But don't be late - Loosely Woven concerts always start on time! :-)
