Chris Gillespie and Ben Scott will be the guest artists for Blackheath folk at the Ivanhoe Hotel in March.
Folks at Blackheath are in for an entertaining evening of storytelling, humour and carefully crafted songwriting. They will be showcasing some new material as well as some old favourites.
Gillespie and Scott worked together on Ben's first album 'The Sydney Cove Project'. The recording explores the settlement of Sydney, bringing to life characters and events in Australia's early history. Ben is currently working on a new album, which will feature the hilarious 'Lithgow Express'.
Chris Gillespie recently won 'best song' award for his entry 'Two Front Doors' in the 'Lawsong' songwriting competition, which was part of the 'Love Lawson' festival. Gillespie's EP 'The Road To Tamworth', which features 'Ed'(the cricket playing dog) has received airplay on ABC Radio National's 'Bush Telegraph'. He is currently close to releasing a new EP, 'M2 Cockatoo'. Chris will also be performing at the 2007 St. Albans folk festival.
