Australian Anglo Concertina Recording Project
Compilation CD of anglo concertina music

Planning is now well under way for a compilation CD of anglo concertina music played by Australian-based musicians, past and present.

If you would like to be considered for inclusion in this project, or if you have archival material which may be suitable for inclusion, please contact me as soon as possible.

It is probable that the CD will contain a bias towards Australian and folk material, but music from other cultures played in Australia by Australian-based performers will certainly be considered.

Performances may be solo concertina or in conjunction with other instruments and/or vocals, though with the concertina at least slightly dominant.

Initially required are recordings which may not necessarily be of technically top quality, but sufficient to allow selection of suitable material for a balanced and interesting CD.

At a later stage, recording quality may need to be of a much higher standard, so that international interest and distribution may be achieved.

It is envisaged that payment will be made to contributing performers and/or those with rights to archive material if and when a certain level of sales are achieved to cover costs. Sponsorships, grants and private investment are currently being sought.

If you wish to participate, or can assist in any other way, please contact Malcolm Clapp by phone on (02) 6654 0145 or email or snail mail to:
