About Folkmail

Folkmail is a weekly digest of events for the coming week. It began, some years ago, by taking one week of dates from Cornstalk; then, as an extra service, started adding events that had missed the Cornstalk deadline. Now, as well as events already listed in Cornstalk, Folkmail gathers information from emails sent by members, and from other sources.

All along, it has been intended as a service for members of the Folk Federation of New South Wales, and has been generally appreciated. If you would like to receive Folkmail, we encourage you to join. A lot of voluntary work goes into producing it, and the hope is for the Folk Federation to benefit from that work - as its members do.

Folkmail is usually sent out on Wednesdays each week. If you have an event you want publicised, it is best to send it in at least two days before Tuesday - in fact, the earlier the better. The information required is the date, event and/or performer, venue and address, time, entry fee, and contact details - and web addresses, if available. Compilation is much easier if that information comes in the body of the email, and is easily copied.

Radio for the Print Handicapped is also sent a list of events, selected for Sydney through to Newcastle. If you would like a mention of your event (in those areas) on 2RPH-FM, the contact needs to be a phone number.

Send information to Folkmail.
